The Carnegie Mellon Informatics and Mathematics Competition (CMIMC) holds math and computer science competitions for middle and high school students. There are three main competitions: 

  • Carnegie Mellon University Women’s Mathematics Competition (CMWMC): An in-person math competition for all middle and high school students who are female or non-binary. Consists of an individual round, a relay round, and a guts round. 

  • Carnegie Mellon Informatics and Mathematics Competition-Programming Competition (CMIMC Programming): An online programming competition for teams of 3 high school students. The competition is held over two days and consists of an AI round, an optimization round, and a new languages round. 

  • Carnegie Mellon Informatics and Mathematics Competition-Math Competition (CMIMC Math): An in-person math competition for teams of up to 6 middle school and high school students with both team and individual rounds.

  • CMWMC: Open to middle school and high school students who are female or non-binary, regardless of prior math contest experience. 
  • CMIMC Programming: Open to teams of 3 high school students.
  • CMIMC Math: Open to teams of up to 6 middle school and high school students.

The Carnegie Mellon Informatics and Mathematics Competition (CMIMC) is a student-run club that organizes math and computer science competitions throughout the year in an effort to promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity in these disciplines. CMIMC also features guest lectures, workshops, and networking opportunities.
