The Central New York Science & Engineering Fair (CNYSEF) is an ISEF-affiliated event that accepts science fair projects from students in grades 4 through 12 at public and private schools and homeschooled students in Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Jefferson, Madison, Onondaga, Oswego, Tioga, and Tompkins counties.

Students have the opportunity to present their science fair projects to judges from throughout the CNY Community, competing for prizes as well as top honors including advancement to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.

Eligibility Requirements

  • All participating students must live/attend school in one of the following counties: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Jefferson, Madison, Onondaga, Oswego, Tioga, or Tompkins
  • Registered students cannot participate in another ISEF-affiliated fair in the same season

  • Team projects are limited to a maximum of 3 students
  • All projects must comply with the rules and regulations set forth by the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF)

The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST) is a hands-on science and technology museum located in downtown Syracuse, NY. Its mission is to provide great science learning experiences that ignite curiosity, encourage discovery, and inspire investigation in people of all ages and abilities. The MOST features 35,000 square feet of interactive permanent and traveling exhibits, and operates numerous STEM education programs and community outreach events during the year such as the Catapult Challenge, Bridges Challenge, Micron Robotics Challenge, and CNY Science & Engineering Fair.
