The Climate Science Olympiad is a student competition that brings together young people from all around the world and helps them take action against climate change by proposing solutions to real climate problems. There are four rounds to the competition: Qualifiers, Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals, all of which take place online. The Qualifiers and Quarter Finals consist of multiple choice questions, while the Semi-Finals and Finals entail proposal writing. There are three age brackets: under 16s, 17-19, and 20-25 years old. Regardless of age, participants compete in the same qualifiers and answer the same type of problem statements but are only compared to their own age bracket. Winners are eligible for cash prizes and a free trip to the United Nations Climate Summit.
