The Columbia Junior Science Journal (CJSJ) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal for high school students, published by Columbia University in New York City. The journal was founded in 2006 by a group of Columbia University undergraduate students who recognized the need for a platform for high school students to showcase their research and engage with the scientific community. The CJSJ is published twice a year and features original research articles, review papers, and scientific commentary written by high school students from around the world. The journal covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, and engineering. The CJSJ is entirely run and managed by high school students who serve as editors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board. This provides a unique opportunity for students to develop their scientific skills and gain hands-on experience in scientific publishing at a young age.
