Creative Communication Poetry Contest

Students share thousands in awards and can become published writers! Enter our free poetry contest and you will have the opportunity to become a new published writer. We have poetry contests for elementary students and middle school students.

• Students must be in school (public, private or home school) in the United States.
• Open to students in grades K-9.
• Students can enter on their own or have a parent or teacher submit their entry.

• April 10th, 2025

• All entries must be in English and be the original work of the individual student.
• You can write on any appropriate subject (no pro-violence, pro drugs, etc.)
• Poems cannot be over 21 lines of text (blank lines between stanzas are not counted).
• Do not double-space your entry.
• Be sure to use proper capitalization.
• If you attend a detention center or adolescent treatment facility, you can just put your last initial for your last name. In all other cases, please put your complete first and last name.
