The Reynolds Young Writers Workshop at Denison is an energizing 8-day program for motivated high school students (rising juniors and seniors) who love to write. For nearly 30 years, the Reynolds Workshop has brought together young writers who are passionate about writing and eager to connect to a close-knit community of writing friends. The workshop is held each June on the beautiful campus of Denison University, a leading liberal arts college, in the village of Granville, Ohio.

  • $1,500 tuition, which includes room and board

Eligibility Requirements

  • Rising juniors and seniors

Application or Entry Requirements

The online application includes:

  • A few short-answer questions 
  • A creative writing sample (up to 10 pages of fiction, poetry, and/or creative nonfiction)
  • A recommendation from an English teacher or school counselor. Note: Your recommender will be asked to complete a short online form, NOT to send a letter. A link will be provided via the online application.

Financial Aid Details

  • We encourage all students to apply, regardless of your financial situation. Generous financial assistance, made possible through the Reynolds Endowment, is available based on need. A simple financial aid request form is included in the online application.
