Georgetown Hoya Summer Academies provides high school student the opportunity to ease their transition into the college learning environment through a blend of lectures, class discussions, and featured guest speakers. You’ll be able to take classes with current undergraduate students, learn from prestigious Georgetown faculty, and engage in challenging coursework that will prepare you for success in college and beyond. Choose from our five-week on-campus courses, eight-week online courses, or opt to do a combination of both. Upon completion of your course(s), you will receive an official transcript from Georgetown University.
The Pathways to Social Justice Academy introduces you to the complex role of public policy through the lens of social justice. You will explore models and methods of public policy in order to gain an interdisciplinary understanding that will allow you to analyze injustice.
As a student in the Pathways to Social Justice Academy, you will spend your time engaged in a combination of class sessions, workshops, small group dialogues, reflection sessions, and extracurricular activities. You will have the opportunity to explore the following subject areas:
- Public policy
- Social justice
- Advocacy
- Equity
- Power
- Democracy
- Awareness campaigns
- Public speaking
- Creative envisioning
- Collaboration
You will have the opportunity to engage with professionals from think tanks and organizations that defend and work in areas of civil, economic, labor, and human rights as they relate to public policy. You will study the forces that shape and impact public policy and interact with people who turn ideas into campaigns and action.

- In-person tuition: $5,300
- Commuter tuition: $3,735
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a current or rising high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior during the academic year prior to your summer program
- Show evidence of good academic standing, with at least a 2.0 GPA

Application or Entry Requirements
- 300-500 word personal statement describing why you want to attend the Summer High School Programs
- Contact information of a high school counselor, teacher, or principal who can speak to your academic readiness and verify your current GPA
- International Students must obtain mandatory health insurance. More information for international students can be found here.
- $50 application fee after January (fee waived before end of January).
Notifications of Decisions
- Please allow up to three weeks after we have received your completed application for an admission decision to be emailed to your primary email address.
Financial Aid Details
A limited number of scholarships are available to accepted students. The Scholarship Application Form opens early winter, and earlier applications are more likely to receive funding.
