Our 1-Week, 2-Week, and 3-Week Academies provide an accelerated, hands-on learning experience. You'll examine a single subject area through collaborative exercises, simulations, group discussions, presentations from industry leaders, and field trips to some of D.C.’s top institutions.

  • Dates vary based on academy, with some academies offering multiple sessions throughout the summer.  Visit the academies page for specific dates.

Cost/Compensation

  • 1-Week Academy Residential: $3,525 - $3,905
  • 1-Week Academy Commuter: $2,730 - $3,025
  • 2-Week Academy Residential: $5,950 - $6,455
  • 2-Week Academy Commuter: $4,145 - $4,495
  • 3-Week Academy Residential: $7,700 - $8,410
  • 3-Week Academy Commuter: $5,800 - $6,355

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a current or rising high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior during the academic year prior to your summer program
  • Show evidence of good academic standing, with at least a 2.0 GPA
  • For the following Non-Credit Academies, students must be at least 15 years old by the date of check-in (no exceptions):
    • Medical Academy
    • Nursing Academy
    • Medical Immersion Academy
    • Neuroscience Academy
    • Biotechnology for Science & Health

Deadline

  • Early Bird Deadline: January 31st, 2025
  • Final Deadline: April 15th, 2025

Application or Entry Requirements

  • A completed online application
  • 300- to 500-word personal statement
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • $50 Application Fee (if applying after the early bird deadline)

  • A limited number of scholarship awards are available to students who demonstrate financial need.
