The Global Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (GYEC) is an online 12-hour business idea competition for high school students. You can participate from anywhere as long as you have internet access.
The GYEC aims to inspire young people's entrepreneurial spirit and enhance their understanding and experience in the field of business. It provides an opportunity for teams of high school students from around the world to address significant global problems through innovative and sustainable business ideas. Additionally, they learn to apply their knowledge of science and technology in a practical manner.
At the GYEC, you will receive a challenge at 8:00 am on the day of the competition, and you will present your business idea in a 2-page business plan and a 3-minute video, which you need to submit within 12 hours (by 20:00). The challenge is related to social issues that we all share as global citizens, such as poverty, hunger, education, energy, and climate change. Your task is to come up with an innovative business idea to address these issues in a sustainable way using science and technology. You will not know what the challenge will be until the day of the competition..
To register for the competition, participants must form a team of up to 8 eligible students. Ideally, the team should have a diverse range of complementary skills and knowledge in areas such as science, technology, business, marketing, and communication. Your competition journey begins when you select your team members!
