The High School Journalism Institute is an outreach program of The Media School at Indiana University that promotes and supports high school journalism education. Our annual summer workshops provide hands-on, immersive training opportunities for both students and teachers.
Whether you’re just getting into journalism or have years of experience, these student workshops provide you with the tools to learn new skills and sharpen your existing talents. Through hands-on experience, interaction with high-grade equipment, and instruction from field professionals, you’ll receive important tips, tutorials, and resources to help you pursue your passions.

- Program fee: $585
- The program fee includes instruction, on-campus lodging, supervision, and an 6-swipe meal card.
