The Junior Economic Club is an entirely student-led organization focused on understanding and solving real-world economic problems in the public and private sectors. We bring bright and ambitious high school students together in an exceptional community of discussion, exposure, and leadership. We host a variety of events, including, but not limited to: international forums, college and career panels, entrepreneurship workshops, economic and business lectures, and professional development seminars. Membership also opens the door to an invaluable set of connections with motivated students and leading figures in the world's business, economics, finance, and entrepreneurship sectors.
We employ a three-faceted approach to fulfill our mission and provide opportunities for members.
- Forums: Our forums are a place for members to meet each other, listen to distinguished keynote speakers, and engage with panels of professionals. Forums take place in the evening at prominent venues and occur on a seasonal basis. Each includes time for a buffet-style dinner and several networking sessions.
- Seminars: At our weekly, hour-long seminars, members hear from economists, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and many different types of professionals. After each speaker’s presentation, members have the chance to engage in an interactive Q&A and discussion. These events are usually held virtually or in-person on weekend mornings and early afternoons.
- Initiatives: We develop and coordinate programs that help our members better their community and pursue their interests. Members have the opportunity to teach middle school students, write and publish articles, design websites, work in committees, and more. In addition, our partners allow us to offer members exclusive internship and volunteer opportunities.
Students also have the opportunity to attain leadership roles in the club. Each chapter has a President, Vice President, and a team of board members. A small selective group of these individuals manage the national organization.
