Mathroots is a 14-day mathematical talent accelerator summer program hosted by MIT PRIMES for high-potential high school students from underrepresented backgrounds or underserved communities who are interested in exploring creative topics in mathematics and problem solving.

- Two weeks from late June to early July
Cost/Compensation
- All educational, food, and boarding costs are generously covered by our funders. However, students are required to pay for their transportation to and from MIT.
Eligibility Requirements
√mathroots is open to all students who satisfy the following criteria:
- US citizens or attending high school in the US (before the last year of high school).
- Demonstrated academic excellence, particularly in mathematics.
- Students should be comfortable with high school algebra, geometry, trigonometry, exponents, and logarithms. Precalculus is strongly recommended. Calculus is not required.
In accordance with MIT policy for on-campus programming, all participants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a medical or religious exemption. Fully vaccinated includes a booster vaccination if you are eligible for one.
