The National Geographic Society’s Slingshot Challenge is an innovative youth challenge that gives young problem-solvers, advocates, and stewards for the planet the opportunity to create actionable solutions to pressing environmental issues. Individuals or groups of up to six members design a project that addresses one of these environmental areas: cleaning air, restoring oceans, protecting nature, reducing waste, or tackling climate change. Participants create a one-minute video designed to bring attention to the chosen issue, explain the solution idea, and inspire others to join the cause. Winning videos can receive up to $10,000 in funding to implement the idea.
