Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS) at Georgetown: Civic Action and Social Justice
Are you ready to take your life to the next level? To champion human rights? To strengthen your community—and yourself? (And knock out your service hours?)
At PALS at Georgetown, you’ll become a leader who’s socially responsible and emotionally resilient. You’ll learn to navigate conflict with grace, fight against injustice, and create your own programs and events in your community. Students are given the opportunity to build and refine their public speaking, networking, and debate skills. Various workshops and activities are explicitly designed to develop and strengthen an individual’s ability to communicate and advocate effectively. Students will also participate in service projects and strengthen their ability to advocate for others and their community. Projects include donating school supplies and clothing, recycling, and teaming up with local organizations.
Looking toward the future can be intimidating—unless you’re prepared for it. Getting through today can be tough, but the right skills and strategies can help you thrive. This isn’t a conference where you sit and listen all day. In addition to meeting with representatives on Capitol Hill, we have engaging workshops, real-world simulations, open discussions, hands-on activities, evening socials, and plenty of fun with new friends.

Notifications of Decisions
Once you submit the application with the application fee, your place at PALS is reserved until your application is reviewed and you are either granted or denied eligibility. If you are denied eligibility, your application fee can be refunded. Denials usually happen when it's evident that the student doesn’t want to, or is being forced to attend by a parent, by essentially submitting a blank application.
