The STEM Fellowship Journal (SFJ) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to supporting young researchers in high school and university. It publishes STEM research conducted by high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. SFJ invites original research submissions from any STEM-related field, including but not limited to the natural sciences, medicine, engineering, as well as the related social sciences and humanities. 

Submissions are accepted under the following categories:

  • Primary research
  • Qualitative research
  • Viewpoints
  • Review articles
  • Conference proceedings

  • Final issues are released twice a year

Cost/Compensation

  • If a manuscript is accepted for publication following peer review, the author will be required to pay a $400 CAD open-access publication fee

  • High school, undergraduate, and graduate students from all over the world

  • Authors should carefully review the guidelines detailing how to prepare their manuscript for submission to ensure the most efficient editorial process
  • Failure to comply with the criteria may result in your manuscript being rejected

Notifications of Decisions

  • After submission, it can take anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks for your manuscript to be edited by a member of the student editorial board
  • Manuscripts are uploaded as a pre-print on the STEM Fellowship Journal website once they are ready for publication. Pre-prints are then compiled into a final issue
